St. John’s Residents and Employees Embrace Wellness
Encouraging St. John’s residents and employees to embrace living is one of our main priorities. We believe that everyone has the right to live a fulfilling and enriching life with balance and vibrancy. Residents and employees have the ability to do so through a wide range of programing and benefits.
Living at St. John’s
Residents at all of our communities, including our rehabilitation guests, have access to a loaded social calendar. St. John’s Home residents who require long-term care or rehabilitation can attend daily activities that promote emotional and physical wellness. These enriching activities are organized by the St. John’s Therapeutic Recreation and Spiritual Care Teams. Featured programming includes bingo, drum fitness, courtyard concerts, seasonal parties, card club, Faith Faces Issues, St. John’s Singers choir, and more.

At our independent living and enhanced assisted living communities located at St. John’s Meadows and Brickstone by St. John’s, there are daily activities that are organized by the social recreation department and some programs that are resident-led. Residents enjoy programs and classes like Crafts and Conversation, Movement and Music with Anita, writing groups, Pets on the Patio, tai chi, and much more. St. John’s Meadows has an indoor pool with regularly scheduled programming and groups. Walking trails connect St. John’s Meadows and Brickstone by St. John’s and make area attractions like Highland Park and the Erie Canal more accessible.
Working at St. John’s

St. John’s employees have access to a fitness center, the ability to bring their pet into the office, a tuition reimbursement program, and employee appreciation activities to promote wellness and socialization. Recently St. John’s employees and their family and friends spent a fun summer’s day at Seabreeze Amusement Park. This was organized by the Employee Appreciation Committees from each community.
Two of St. John’s mission values are friendly and fun. We know that having a friendly and fun work or living environment is important for a person’s overall wellness. With so many wellness options– from fitness to art, to music and social gatherings — there is something for everyone, at any age and stage of life.
