How St. John’s Prioritizes Employee Wellness

The Rochester Business Journal spoke with St. John’s Vice President of Work Life Dean Moore about how senior living and long-term care communities are combating employee burnout. The article was featured in the newspaper’s Senior Living & Long-Term Care Service Directory 2023.

“We like to do things for our employees that help lighten the mood a bit,” says Moore in reference to a challenging few years for the healthcare industry as a whole due to COVID-19.

“Having pets around adds to employee wellness,” says Moore. Several employees are able to bring their dogs to work, creating a comforting environment for staff and residents. Employees and their pets can be seen taking walking breaks throughout St. John’s and the American Heart Association’s trails located in the beautiful Highland Park near St. John’s.

Moore also mentioned St. John’s partnership with EZaccessMD, a telemedicine benefit available to all employees. “We’re highly confident this benefit has had a very high return on investment,” says Moore.
