Intergenerational Halloween Fun at St. John’s

St. John’s Home residents celebrated Halloween with our annual Trick-or-Treat Extravaganza. Visitors from Generations Child Care stopped by for candy and quality time with the residents of St. John’s. This intergenerational event is one that residents look forward to every year.

Resident Marcie Gass told 13 WHAM News that she looks forward to the day because it brings her joy as a former teacher. “I love seeing the kids — the new generation that is growing up,” said Marice.

Marcie noted that this type of intergenerational program helps ensure that “the kids are not afraid of aging or visiting a grandparent.”

St. John’s Therapeutic Recreation Supervisor John Eilers-Lloyd told the news that “intergenerational activities and programming are so appreciated by the elders here [St. John’s].”
