A Milestone Birthday with Family and Neighbors

“The first hundred years are the hardest. Now I go on to the easier ones, right?”

St. John’s Meadows Resident Molla Carr reached the century mark this week and was celebrated by many of her longtime independent living neighbors, family members, and 13 WHAM News.

“I’m thankful for all of the people I love,” Carr told 13 WHAM during her 100th birthday party held in the Parks Room at Chestnut Court.

A huge fan of Channel 13, particularly Meteorologist Scott Hetsko, Carr also expressed her affinity for the community she calls home. “I love it here at St. John’s,” Carr said. In fact, one of her neighbors who shared in the celebration was Jacqueline Stricker, another St. John’s centenarian who Carr has known since she was eight years old!
