St. John’s Collaborative to be Recognized by AFPGV

ROCHESTER, N.Y. — St. John’s collaborative project with Nazareth College is among winners in nine different categories from around the greater Rochester area to be recognized by the Genesee Valley Chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFPGV) at its annual National Philanthropy Day® Celebration on Thursday, September 8. This year’s event will be held at Frontier Field and more than 300 people are expected to attend in celebration of the award winners and the philanthropic spirit of the Rochester community. This year’s event is being held earlier than usual and at an outdoor venue to ensure and safe and welcoming space for all to enjoy.

St. John’s is pleased to be among those honored as a 2022 National Philanthropy Day award winner and is grateful to be among such prestigious company. Each year, the Rochester community joins AFPGV to help thank generous philanthropists for their contributions that are making our region a great place to live, work, play, and age well. “Our award winners reflect the generosity of spirit that makes our community such a special place and reflect the multitude of ways people can be a philanthropist,” says Jared Longmore, president of AFPGV.

AFPGV will present the following awards at the event:

Outstanding Corporation: KeyBank

Outstanding Small Business: Bold & Gritty Coffee

Outstanding Foundation: Rochester Female Charitable Society

Robert A. Clinger Outstanding Fundraising Professional: Gerianne Puskas, CFRE

Outstanding Philanthropist: Dr. Gina A. Cuyler

Outstanding Volunteer Fundraiser: Kiara Warren

Outstanding Young People in Philanthropy – Group: Students for the St. John’s Collaborative for Intergenerational Learning

Outstanding Young Person in Philanthropy: Rabina Aqa Jan

Burton S. August, Sr. Award for Community Leadership: Justin Vigdor

This year’s event is expected to look a bit different than past National Philanthropy Day luncheon events. This year’s celebration will be held in the evening from 5 -7 p.m. to create a more family-friendly environment, with several exciting surprises and fun for all in attendance. Tickets are $50 for individual AFP members, $60 for non-members, and $350 for a table of 8. Children 12 & under are free with a paying adult. Tickets are available online at www.afpgv.org/NPD.
