Local News Features First Phase of St. John’s Home Renovations

“Quite a momentous occasion in this organization’s 120-year history.”

That was the introduction from Master of Ceremonies Ginny Ryan. She joined St. John’s leadership, staff, residents, and families gathered to celebrate the completion of ground floor renovations throughout the Hastings building at St. John’s Home on Sunday, December 8. The special ribbon-cutting event showcased the updated space, which includes a renovated Welcome Center, new multi-purpose room, resident-focused space, renovated Ice Cream Shoppe, and several updates made to the auditorium.

Renovations began in April, with finishing touches completed just days prior to the event, which preceded the annual Illumination of Love holiday lighting event. Illumination of Love– an event that has kicked off the holiday season at St. John’s for over two decades– raised nearly $12,000 to support St. John’s residents through programming and resources that support an active and engaged lifestyle. Both the ribbon-cutting event and Illumination of Love were sponsored by St. John’s Foundation.

Additional renovations will continue at both St. John’s Home and St. John’s Meadows into 2020.
