The Rochester Lilac Festival is always a busy occasion at St. John’s!

St. John’s Home is located right in the heart of Highland Park and the Lilac Festival each year. Because of its location, residents and staff made sure to make their way over to enjoy the fun and excitement of this beautiful occasion. Even long-term care residents and staff from the St. John’s Green House Homes in Penfield arrived by bus to take in the festival!

Dozens of residents from St. John’s Meadows and Brickstone by St. John’s came from their communities located just south of the park, with many enjoying a nice walk up to Highland Avenue to take in the lilacs. Others took a short ride by shuttle bus to take in the sights and sounds of the festival.

It has been a great time for everyone to enjoy the festival in its first full return since the start of the pandemic. Residents took this great opportunity to be out in nature, experience a sense of community, and of course embrace living!

Many St. John’s Home residents had family and friend visitors join them for the festival activities.
