Life Bio Creates Memories and Friendship

Written by Reva Sipser, a St. John’s Meadows Resident

For eleven years, Life Bio has been a popular offering at St. John’s. Each Friday Deb Hammond our former Social Recreation Director, and resident Pat Brogan, lead the eight member group through the process of writing their life stories in a sequential pattern.

Each person’s memories are apt to trigger another member’s life events. In the safe and confidential environment we share experiences, memories, and feelings that shape our stories. At the end of each eight week session we have a presentation with our own biographer conducted through various mediums. It can be books, story boards, video, or combinations of media. It has continued to be a wonderful way of gathering memories in order to make them concrete while getting better acquainted with other residents.
