Intergenerational Veterans Program Featured in Local Media

The Dialogues on War program– an intergenerational endeavor pairing wartime veterans and college students– was featured on two broadcast news programs in the lead up to Memorial Day weekend. Dr. Carolyn Vacca,  Professor of History at St. John Fisher College, and Brickstone by St. John’s resident Larry Nazarian discussed the program on WHEC Channel 10 and Fox Rochester on Friday, May 25.

Dr. Vacca talked about co-authoring the National Endowment of the Humanities grant that made the program possible, and how these small storytelling sessions benefit all participants. Nazarian talked about his unique contribution to the Vietnam War effort as a physician in the Army as well as his experience taking part in a Dialogues on War session at St. John’s Meadows.

The great news is it is not too late for St. John’s residents to be involved in this great program. Additional sessions are currently being scheduled.
