Senior Life Group Meets Congresswoman Louise Slaughter

This past week, over forty elders, staff, and family members gathered in the auditorium at St. John’s Home to welcome congresswoman Louise Slaughter. Put forth by the Senior Life Group, members prepared questions for Louise regarding the effects of health care in our Rochester community.

The discussion encouraged residents to ask personal questions about issues that are of concern. When asked how they (elders) could support advances in health care, Louise replied, “Government is not a spectator sport – it’s on all of us to participate.” Following the meeting, Louise made her way through the crowd, shaking hands and thanking residents for inviting her into their home.
