Celebrating Therapeutic Recreation Month
February is Therapeutic Recreation (TR) Month, and we would like to thank the amazing therapeutic recreation team at St. John’s for all that they do! The team consistently helps both elders and staff to engage in meaningful activities.
To celebrate the month, the TR team held multiple activities and events to raise awareness about the benefits of individual leisure pursuits, group programs, being spontaneous, staying connected to the community, stress relief, and empowering St. John’s elders.
The month’s activities included a drumming circle, rolling a dice to answer questions and win prizes, a concert, and an activity board. Because of our TR team’s creativity and passion, all at St. John’s Home had a great time celebrating Therapeutic Recreation Month (and learned a lot in the process)!
