Embrace Living: Old Shoes Given New Life

ReRun Shoes takes gently used footwear and gives them to people in need.

Residents at Brickstone, Briarwood, and Chestnut Court aren’t really running around barefoot these days, but neither are some good people in Africa.

During the month of February 2015, our residents donated 125 pairs of shoes to the organization ReRun Shoes. That amounted to five huge totes at the weight of 182 pounds. ReRun provided the boxes and shipping costs. We at St. John’s responded to their needs.

Congratulations to Jean Loomis for arranging the shoe drive and to our many caring residents. It was a huge success and a tribute to the good-hearted people here.

Reva Sipser,
St. John’s Meadows Resident
