Foundation President Wins Fundraising Award

St. John’s Foundation President Anne McKenna was named as winner of the 2018 Robert A. Clinger Outstanding Fundraising Professional award at the Genesee Valley chapter of the American Fundraising Professionals (AFP) annual luncheon on November 2. According to the AFP,  the award “honors an outstanding individual fundraising professional who practices his/her profession in an exemplary manner.” McKenna has run the foundation since 2017 after a previous stint working at St. John’s from 1996 until 2007.

The Rochester Business Journal recently featured McKenna in an article touting her work as an “effective, creative, and stimulating leader.”  Taylor Freitas– development manager at St. John’s Foundation– went on record to describe her tireless work ethic and dedication to her craft. “It’s not uncommon for Anne to deliver an early-morning presentation to the St. John’s Board, come back to the office and tackle an endless stream of emails and phone messages, run out the door to meet a donor for lunch, come back to the office for a meeting with the CEO, drive across town to chair an AFPGV board or committee meeting, and then finally arrive home, only to put in a few more hours of grant writing.”

Past winners of this distinguished award include leaders from the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Rochester, Villa of Hope, and Greater Rochester Enterprise. Congratulations, Anne!
