About the Foundation

Helping Residents Embrace Living

Founded in 1992, the mission of St. John’s Foundation is to support St. John’s in bringing joy and purpose to the lives of seniors in our care. Donations directly impact the people served by St. John’s: more than 900 residents, resident families, and nearly 700 staff.

Donations support:

  • Creative arts; recreational and social programs including concerts and musical performances, art exhibitions, art and music therapy; and activities that encourage seniors to explore the greater community
  • Spiritual and religious programming, including interfaith worship services; remembrance services and grief support; and chaplain support for a diverse cultural and religious community
  • Physical fitness activities, including walks, hikes, swim exercise classes, chair exercise, yoga, Qi Gong, and Tai chi
  • Residents’ special needs
  • Staff development and appreciation activities

Purpose:

  1. To promote philanthropy, volunteerism, public awareness, and goodwill for St. John’s
  2. To advance the St. John’s vision to lead and inspire a shift in society’s views of elderhood by embracing and celebrating life’s experiences
  3. To raise and manage funds to support that vision
  4. To distribute funds to support the vision through grant-making

I give to St. John's because my mother is a resident of Brickstone, and has found the perfect community in which to thrive in Rochester. Eliza Kozlowski, St. John's Foundation Board Member
