Volunteer Opportunities

Make Someone's Day at St. John's

Volunteers have always played a vital role in creating St. John’s warm and nurturing environment. Our volunteer program invites members of the community to participate in a unique and rewarding experience by encouraging creativity and offering a variety of leadership opportunities.

We recognize that each volunteer comes to us with different interests, talents, and abilities. That is why we let you choose from a wide variety of volunteer opportunities, each designed to deliver a challenging, enjoyable, and rewarding volunteer experience, as well as a chance for career exploration and learning new skills.

I just wanted to extend our thanks for having us at your facility today. My girls have not stopped talking about it, and even ran to the principal when we got back to share their stories. We had a great time! Shannon Bodine, Young Women’s College Prep

How You Can Help

We invite individuals, as well as groups from corporate volunteer programs or secondary schools and colleges, to exercise their talents and skills as St. John’s volunteers. Please note: to volunteer as an individual, you must be at least 16 years old.

At St. John’s Home, volunteers maintain the library, gift shop, transport residents to activities and appointments, and, most importantly, provide welcome companionship.

At St. John’s Meadows and Brickstone by St. John’s, volunteer opportunities include assisting with events, maintaining the libraries and gift shop, and helping with activities such as games and clubs.

A Rewarding Experience

The rewards of volunteering are as unique as your reasons for wanting to volunteer. To help thank St. John’s Home volunteers for their generosity, we offer free meals in our cafeteria, free ice cream at the ice cream shop, and free flu shots for volunteers age 21 and older.

Volunteers at St. John’s Meadows and Brickstone by St. John’s are invited to use the amenities of St. John’s Meadows, including our libraries, fitness centers, cafe, gift shop, and swimming pool.

We also invite all St. John’s volunteers to enjoy our many recognition events throughout the year.
