Mark Wright’s experience with St. John’s Home and related St. John’s communities began when his mother, Shirley, and brother, Bruce, moved into an apartment at St. John’s Meadows in 2017. When Mark’s mom needed the additional care offered at St. John’s Home, Bruce also moved into a smaller apartment at St. John’s Meadows for a few years. Ultimately, first Mark’s mom and later Bruce moved to St. John’s former Green Houses in Penfield (although not at the same time). Since the closing of the Green Houses, Bruce has lived at St. John’s Home on Reservoir 3.
For the past 13 years, Mark has worked as an attorney in the University of Rochester’s Office of Counsel, specializing primarily in commercial real estate, construction and related matters. Prior to that, Mark held a similar position in Kodak’s Legal Department for over 20 years.
Mark currently serves on the ASC Housing Board (an Al Sigl affiliate). Over the years Mark has been a member and held leadership roles on Church governing bodies at Asbury First United Methodist Church and Penfield Presbyterian Church, and on several day care boards. From 1993 to 1999, Mark was a member of the board of United Cerebral Palsy of Rochester.
After living in Penfield for 26 years, and raising their two children there, Mark and his wife Pam Ryan in 2018 moved to a town house located on the Erie Canal in Fairport. Their son Quinn, his wife Katie, and our three grandchildren (Riley, 13, and Sienna, 2 ½ and Hayes, 8 months) also live in Fairport. Our daughter Shannon lives in Boston with her fiancé, giving them a wonderful reason to visit one of their favorite cities.
