St. John's Hosts An Entertaining Night at the George Eastman Museum

Beautifully adorned tablescapes in famous movie themes were the backdrop of An 'Entertaining' Night at the George Eastman Museum hosted by St. John's on Tuesday, May 9. Guests were treated to a private viewing of the Museum's two-week exhibit "Eastman Entertains," a catered reception, and the film Dinner at 8, which was shown in the Dryden Theater.

After enjoying an open welcome by St. John's Vice President of Skilled Services Rebecca Priest and George Eastman Museum Vice President Laura Sadowski, patrons gathered in the Musuem's peristyle for appetizers and refreshments, including a St. John''s inspired signature punch. Immediately following, they were encouraged to enjoy the more than 25 tablescapes decorated and contributed by volunteers from the community and inspired by movies such as "Black Swan," "Pretty Woman," "Murder on the Orient Express," "Splendor in the Grass," and many more.

The evening closed with a showing of the classic film "Dinner at 8" and a shout out to St. John's as one of the sponsors of the Eastman Entertains exhibit, in its second year and running through May 21, 2017. The event was offered as part of St. John's Embrace Living Series, which features programs that showcase the lifestyle enjoyed by residents in St. John's senior living communities.

Residents Say Thank You By Supporting Staff Holiday Party

In lieu of tips for service well done (which cannot be accepted by staff per St. John's policy) Meadows and Brickstone residents are able to contribute through out the year to a special fund that helps to support employee engagement activities at these facilities. One of those activities that is a much looked forward to year-end tradition, is the annual staff holiday party. With great food, fun games, coveted prizes, along with a few surprises (never know what Director of Operations Tony Zaccaglino will be wearing), this year's party did not disappoint. Included here are some photos of staff members caught both in an out of the photo booth!
