Retiring Employee Leaves a Legacy Deeply Connected to the Mission of St. John’s

A veteran employee with two extended tenures at St. John’s retires this week after over 20 years of total service to the organization. A group of employees, donors, family, and friends joined her for a celebratory reception at St. John’s Home.

Anne Mc Kenna

Anne Mc Kenna started at St. John’s in 1996, tasked with pre-marketing and leasing cottages and apartments at St. John’s Meadows. “It was an exciting time for St. John’s,” says Mc Kenna. “There was a lot of interest from the community regarding the Brighton property that was planned. I hired Cindy Ruscio and Stephanie Krebbeks to begin leasing the apartments. They are both still here and thriving!”

After years of fundraising for other organizations, Anne returned to St. John’s in 2017 as the executive director of St. John’s Foundation.  St. John’s President and CEO Rob Earl pointed to Mc Kenna’s work building trust and fostering impactful relationships during her 9 years leading the Foundation. “Whether it was helping to build programs, leading events, or strengthening relationships across the community, you have consistently brought professionalism, integrity, and care to your work,” Earl said.

Much of Mc Kenna’s recent work with St. John’s Foundation centered around fundraising efforts towards the future Charlie and Kathy Runyon Dementia Resource Center. “I’m especially grateful that we have already raised $2.3 million towards this initiative,” says Mc Kenna.

Congratulations to Anne Mc Kenna on her retirement. Thank you for your years of dedicated service to St. John’s.
