Discussions with Dan: Positive Growth

“I am really optimistic about our growth as an organization,” says St. John’s Vice President of Skilled Services Dan Morphet.

Since the last Discussions with Dan, St. John’s Home has undergone new changes and innovations to better serve the residents. “That is why we’re here — for the residents,” says Morphet.

Morphet says he has heard “nothing but great reviews” from rehabilitation guests. “We have an amazing physical therapy team that is doing great work.” Morphet goes on to explain another new partnership blossoming at St. John’s.

He discusses the “decision to transition from our in-house medical team to a contracted partnership with TeamHealth.” Morphet says that TeamHealth is one of the nation’s leading providers of post-acute, comprehensive clinical services now serving 49 other partner communities in the region.

“As the needs of our residents have become more complex and the reimbursement structure within the long-term healthcare landscape remains challenging, we must continue to evolve and strengthen the ways we deliver care,” Morphet says.

“I truly believe we are growing for the better,” says Morphet. He mentions that these changes will not only benefit St. John’s residents and their families, but the aging population of Rochester who might need long-term care in the future. “We want to be here for the next 125 years.”
