Alzheimer’s/Dementia

Alzheimer's Care with Both Security and Freedom

Few things are as challenging as caring for a loved one with Alzheimer’s or another form of dementia. Almost everyone reaches a point where they need help and, eventually, a place for their loved one to live. St. John’s offers Alzheimer’s care that goes beyond keeping them safe and secure. Our memory care programs are designed to help them continue to live rewarding lives that are full of activity and companionship.

It starts with recognizing each person’s uniqueness and potential for growth. That is why we provide individualized, person-directed care in a “small homes” setting that includes both elders that are living with dementia and those who are not. These small homes have shown that people with Alzheimer’s disease or other forms of dementia can live well without being separated from others.

Alzheimer’s Care With Both Security And Freedom

Our Alzheimer’s and dementia care services are based at our St. John’s Home location in Rochester, NY. And while you will find safeguarded entrances and exits, you will also find vibrant common areas filled with art, music, plants, and visiting pets—as well as activities tailored to specific resident needs. We also designed enclosed outdoor courtyards to provide a safe haven for exercise and outdoor activities like gardening.

Just as important, our a team of caring professionals are committed to working together to provide individualized care for each elder, even those facing the most severe challenges.

My Mom stayed at St. John's for years suffering from Alzheimer's. Never forgot how caring and loving all the staff were to my Mom! Thomas

I just want to say that I truly appreciate what you (all) do for my dad and the other people on his floor to keep them safe and to make them feel loved. It’s especially important to me because I’m so far away. Eileen https://www.stjohnsliving.org/wp-admin/post.php?post=1190&action=edit#
